# SideQuest listing text
Paste these into App Studio's App details fields. Markdown here is limited to
SideQuest's supported subset: bold, italic, lists, links, strikethrough, line
breaks, images and video.
## Title
QuestShock
## Summary line
Play the classic 1994 System Shock natively on your Quest, with fully remappable controls.
## Required fields (App details tab)
- **App name**: Questshock
- **Package name**: `de.ladkau.questshock`
- **Version code**: `39`
- **Version name**: `0.5.5`
(Version code/name match the `v0.5.5` GitHub release; bump both together for
each future release - version code is that release's `versionCode` from the
build log, e.g. `Version: 0.5.5 (versionCode 39)`.)
## Other fields
- **Play comfort**: Comfortable; "This app can be played while seated" checked
- **License**: Free
- **Supported devices**: Quest
- **Search tags**: Adventure, Horror, Retro
- **Distribution**: link to the GitHub release APK directly, e.g.
(avoids re-uploading the APK to SideQuest for every release)
## Description
QuestShock brings the 1994 cyberpunk classic **System Shock** to your Meta Quest, running entirely on the headset - no PC, tethering, or streaming required.
The engine renders its original flat 2D frame, shown on a large virtual screen floating in front of you in VR - not a stereoscopic remake. Point at it with either controller like a mouse, or use the built-in VR menu and on-screen keyboard.
**Features**
- Fully remappable controls - every controller button, thumbstick direction, and game hotkey (weapon select, MFD panels, save/load, and more) can be bound to any action from the in-headset Controller Options menu
- Free look - hold a mapped grip/button to look around freely with a thumbstick
- A dedicated cyberspace control scheme, with proportional pitch and bank on the sticks
- A Cheats menu - give all items, toggle physics, change level, and four independent unlimited-resource switches (health, energy, ammo, items)
- Configurable virtual screen size and distance, set separately for menus and gameplay
- English, French, and German, including localized intro cutscenes
- A persistent, human-editable config file for every setting above
**You need your own copy of the game**
QuestShock does not include System Shock's game data. You'll need:
1. **System Shock: Enhanced Edition** (e.g. from [GOG](https://www.gog.com/))
2. Launch QuestShock once - it creates a `/sdcard/QuestShock/` folder on your headset
3. Copy that game's `res/data/` and `res/sound/` folders into `/sdcard/QuestShock/res/`
4. Launch QuestShock again
